Community Guidelines
Platonic is for adults building strictly platonic friendships and local community. These guidelines explain what we expect from everyone using the service.
Be Clear and Respectful
Use honest profile information, respect boundaries, and keep conversations friendly, practical, and platonic.
Meet Safely
For first meetups, choose public places, tell someone you trust where you are going, and do not share private contact, home, financial, or identity information too quickly.
Prohibited Content and Behavior
- Harassment, threats, hate, bullying, stalking, or intimidation.
- Dating solicitation, sexual content, sexual services, or sexually explicit messages.
- Scams, spam, fraud, phishing, impersonation, or misleading profiles.
- Illegal content, dangerous activities, malware, or instructions for harm.
- Sharing someone else's private information without permission.
- Content that exploits, endangers, or sexualizes minors.
Reporting and Blocking
Use in-app report, block, mute, and hide controls when a profile, message, post, event, or reply violates these guidelines or makes you feel unsafe.
Child Safety Standards
Platonic prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sexual solicitation of minors, and any content or conduct that sexualizes or endangers children. This prohibition applies throughout the service even though Platonic is for adults only.
Report suspected violations using the in-app reporting controls or contact support@theplatonic.com with the subject “Child safety report.” Include the account or content reference; do not download, copy, or email illegal imagery. If someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services.
Platonic removes prohibited content and restricts or terminates offending accounts after review, preserves information when required for safety or legal obligations, and reports confirmed CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children or the relevant regional authority as required. Child safety concerns take priority in moderation.
Moderation
Platonic may remove content, warn users, limit features, suspend accounts, or ban users. Serious safety issues may be escalated quickly.
